According to the police, another suspect Aftab was arrested from Delhi during a coordinated operation carried out by all the teams simultaneously. A source associated with the operation said that at least 8 people have been detained from different states and the joint team is investigating their role.
"Initial investigations suggest that both were in touch with other members of the Islamic State-inspired network and were involved in activities that furthered the terror outfit's agenda in India," the source said. Danish was on the radar of security agencies for several months. Earlier in the day, Jharkhand Police Inspector General (Operations) and spokesperson Michael Raj S. said, "A joint operation by Delhi and Jharkhand police is being carried out at several places, including a hostel in Ranchi. Some people linked to terror organisations have been detained and their interrogation is underway."
